A 16-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself at his college in Narsingi on Tuesday night at around 10.30 PM. The teen was pursuing first year in intermediate and he was living in a hostel at Narsingi.


On noticing this, the teen was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.


The reason for his suicide is yet to be known. However, the boy's parents in a complaint alleged that the death was due to torture by management, said Narsing Circle Inspector V Shiva Kumar. A case has been filed and the probe is on.


"A 16-year-old boy, yesterday, committed suicide by hanging himself in classroom of his college. The exact reason is yet to be known after the probe however parents in a complaint alleged it was due to torture by management. Case filed," said Narsingi CI V Shiva Kumar as quoted by news agency ANI.






In a similar incident, a first-year postgraduate medical student allegedly attempted suicide at a state-run hospital in Warangal district on February 22 after being "harassed" by her senior in the same college. The senior student was arrested on February 24.


Describing the woman's death as extremely unfortunate and painful, state Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said in a release Sunday night that the government would stand by her family. He announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh from the government to her family.


State Health Minister Harish Rao expressed condolences to the deceased medico's family.


State BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, state Congress chief A Revanth Reddy and other leaders condoled the death of the woman medical student.
