Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who called for a protest at the Jubliee bus station, against the hike in fare of state government buses, was placed under house arrest since Friday morning, police said. "Bandi Sanjay Kumar has been put under house observation over a protest against RTC fare-hike in Telangana," Banjara Hills police station SHO Shiv Chandra, as quoted by ANI, said. He added that they had a doubt that Sanjay would stage a dharna about BJP leader Jitta Balakrishna Reddy being arrested last night and hence kept him under house arrest.

Bandi Sanjay took to his Twitter and said that he wanted to know the problems of passengers after the hike in TSRTC ticket fares. He said that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government had increased the prices of tickets five times in the last three years.

The state BJP chief further said that he was not going to conduct a protest and clarified that he was going to ask the passengers about the problems they had been facing.

According to a report by ABP Desam, Rachakonda Police arrested BJP leader Jitta Balakrishna Reddy for criticising Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, using derogatory comments, at an event on June 2 during the Telangana Formation Day.
