Mission Bhagiratha, the flagship project of the Telangana government, stood atop among the states for providing fresh water to almost every household in the state. "Mission Bhagiratha" scheme topped the list in the 'Regularity' category.


Chief Engineer Krupakar Reddy and other officers of the Mission Bhagiratha team received the "Jal Jeevan Mission Award" from the Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi on Sunday during the Gandhi Jayanti 'Swachh Bharat Diwas' celebrations.






Telangana also has become number 1 in Swachh Bharat Mission - Gramin (SBM-G). Telangana stood second in Clean Survey Awards and 16 urban and local organizations in Telangana have received Swachh Survey-2022 awards. 


Telangana won 13 awards in all fields. Telangana Minister KTR expressed happiness over clinching awards. He said that these awards are proof of the performance of the state government.


Fetes Achieved By Andhra Pradesh


In the Swachh Sarvekshan ranks, Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam has moved from 9th to 4th position. Vijayawada has moved from third to fifth place. Five Andhra Pradesh cities are listed among the top 100 cities. When it comes to cities with a population under 10 lakh, Tirupati ranks first. Rajahmundry fell from 41 to 91. Kadapa has reached 93 from 51. Kurnool moved from 70th to 55th, and Nellore got the 60th position.


Among the cities, Visakhapatnam is in fourth place with 6,701 points out of 7500, Vijayawada at 5th place with 6,699 points, Tirupati at 7th place with 6,584, Kurnool stands 75th with 4,810 and Nellore on the 81st position with 4,688 points.


The Swachh Sarvekshan Awards were presented in an event with President Draupadi Murmu as the chief guest at Delhi's Tal Katora Stadium. In recognition of their excellence in cleanliness and hygiene, the President gave Awards to municipal and city representatives.
