Telangana Election Result: Hours after Congress started to take the lead in Telangana Assembly elections, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao expressed gratitude to the people of Telangana for giving BRS party an opportunity for two consecutive terms to form a government. On not meeting their expected outcome, KTR conveyed that while not saddened they have a a sense of disappointment.


Taking to X, KT Rama Rao said, "Grateful to the people of Telangana for giving @BRSparty two consecutive terms of Government 🙏"


"Not saddened over the result today, but surely disappointed as it was not in expected lines for us. But we will take this in our stride as a learning and will bounce back," he said. 


Further, the outgoing Minister congratulated the Congress party. He said, "Congratulations to Congress party on winning the mandate. Wishing you Good Luck."

As of 3 PM, the latest trends published on the Election Commission of India website revealed that Congress was leading in 64 seats, while BRS maintained a strong second position with a lead in 40 seats. The BJP was gaining momentum in 8 seats, and AIMIM held the lead in six constituencies.


Notably, a lone CPI candidate, part of an alliance with Congress, was also leading in his constituency.


The Election Commission of India also declared the winners in six constituencies, with four candidates from INC and two from BRS emerging victorious. 


Under the leadership of Chandrasekhar Rao, the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has been at the helm of power since 2014, marking Telangana's political journey since it was granted statehood. The party was also optimistic about achieving a remarkable hattrick in the elections.
