Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, Medak MP and BRS candidate from Dubbak assembly, is stable, however, his condition is critical following a life-saving operation at Yashoda Hospitals in Secunderabad on Monday evening, news agency ANI reported. Immediately after the surgery, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao visited Yashoda Hospital to inquire about Prabhakar Reddy's health. In the presence of BRS leader T Harish Rao, the Chief Minister directly talked with key hospital authorities and assessed the situation.

The surgical gastroenterologists had to remove a section of Prabhakar Reddy's small intestine during the procedure since the knife injuries in his lower belly were at least four inches deep. As per the hospital, Prabhakar Reddy will be under observation in the ICU for next three to four days.

According to hospital doctors, Prabhakar Reddy's small intestine suffered extensive knife incisions in four distinct spots, making it impossible to recover organ pieces.

Speaking with media, Surgical Gastroenterologist Dr. TLVD Prasad Babu stated: "Kotha Prabhakar Reddy is stable but his condition is still critical. For the next 3-4 days he will be under observation in a critical care unit. He just got his operation done and came out of the operation theatre. There was a stab injury which penetrated deep into the abdomen. There were four holes in the small intestine and the intestine juices came out of the small intestine and it was causing peritonitis. We have removed that segment of the small intestine and made an anastomosis. We have closed the abdomen and he is recovering in the ICU now. His condition will be observed for the coming 3-4 days, after that only we can tell about his health condition. If everything goes right, we are expecting a hospital stay of 8-10 days."

Earlier today, BRS MP K Prabhakar Reddy was stabbed during a poll campaign in Telangana's Siddipet district.

Reacting to the incident, Rao said, "I am saying that the attack on the Dubbak candidate is an attack on KCR."

He also alleged that the Congress party was behind the attack, reported PTI.
