Days after Income Tax sleuths conducted searches at the residences of Telangana Labour Minister Malla Reddy and his son, the latter alleged that the I-T officer Ratnakar has forcefully taken his brother's signature and filed a complaint at Bowenpally police station in Hyderabad on Thursday. On the flip side, Ratnakar also lodged a complaint against the minister for snatching away laptop, mobile phone and evidence from an I-T officer.
Bowenpally PS Inspector K Ravi Kumar said that the case was registered under Section 384 IPC. "Telangana Min Malla Reddy's son Bhadra Reddy had filed a complaint against Income Tax officer Ratnakar at Bowenpally police station that his brother's signatures were forcefully taken at Dundigul limits hospital. Case registered u/s 384 IPC," the police said as quoted by news agency ANI.
"On the other hand, the Income Tax officer Ratnakar gave a complaint against Min Malla Reddy wherein he stated that the minister forcefully snatched a laptop, mobile phone and evidence from IT Officers in Hyderabad," Ravi Kumar said.
As reported earlier, the minister Wednesday alleged that the BJP government at the Centre was carrying out the Income Tax (I-T) raids on his premised out of "political vendetta".
As the I-T department continued searches at the offices and residences of Malla Reddy and his family members for a second day, the Minister slammed the Central government for what he called its conspiracy to target them and their institutions.
