Hyderabad: Telangana IT & Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday assured the protesting students of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) in Basar that he would take their issues to the notice of CM K Chandrashekhar Rao and Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy. He assured the students of resolving all the issues they have been facing. 


"Will take all the issues mentioned to the notice of Hon’ble CM KCR Garu & Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy Garu. Kindly be assured that we are committed to resolving any challenges with respect to improving the quality of education," KTR said on Twitter.

Over 8,000 students boycotted classes On Tuesday and began an indefinite protest against the university's poor infrastructure and facilities. They demanded the establishment of a permanent Vice-Chancellor, as well as the resolution of basic issues like cots, uniforms, laptops, and drinking water.


"We don't even have a proper drinking water facility. Though this was brought to the notice of the authorities many times, no action was taken," a student leader said as quoted by IANS.


Meanwhile, Sabitha Indra Reddy, the Minister of Education, responding to KTR's tweet said, "I have called for a meeting with the concerned VC today regarding the matter. We will resolve all relating issues ASAP."
