Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to kick-start the election campaign for Telangana Assembly Elections on Tuesday (October 10). The BJP leader will address a public meeting at Adilabad and later attend a conference with intellectuals. The senior BJP leader is also expected to meet party leaders and plan election strategy ahead of the polls scheduled to take place on November 30.

Amit Shah will address an election rally at 3 PM on Tuesday and attend the convention of intellectuals in the evening, BJP sources said, as quoted by IANS.

Early this month, PM Modi launched development programmes in Telangana and addressed two rallies organised by BJP at Mahabubnagar and Nizamabad.

Modi also announced the establishment of a National Turmeric Board, a demand that had long been awaited by turmeric farmers in Nizamabad. He declared the establishment of a Central Tribal University in the state. The establishment of a Central Tribal University is an assurance mentioned in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

The BJP is hopeful that Shah's visit will boost their campaign for the Telangana assembly polls. However, early trends predict a close fight between Congress and BRS.
