Hyderabad:  The Telangana government has issued orders to raise the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the state government employees by 10.01 per cent on Wednesday. The enhancement of DA will be applicable on the basic pay with monetary benefits from July 1. With this boost, the employees to receive 17.29 per cent of DA from the existing 7.28 Per cent.


This comes after the DMK rule in Tamil Nadu have increased the DA for the state government employees by 14 per cent making the benefits of allowance to 31 per cent.

The three DA installments on January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021, are all included in this increase. In the Revised Pay Scales of 2020, the DA will remain at 7.28 percent from January 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, while the dearness relief for the pensioners has been increased from 7.28 per cent to 17.29 per cent, reports Telangana Today.


Employees of Zilla Parishads, Mandal Parishads, Gram Panchayats, Municipalities, Municipal Corporations, Agricultural Market Committees, and Zilla Grandhalaya Samasthas, Work Charged Establishment, who are on a regular pay scale list in the Updated Pay Scales, 2020, are also covered by the revised DA.

Teaching and non-teaching employees in aided institutions, including aided polytechnics, are paid according to the Revised Pay Scales, 2020. University teaching and non-teaching personnel who are paid on a regular pay scale are paid with Revised Pay Scales, 2020. For the part-time assistants and VRAs, the state government also sanctioned an ad hoc increase of Rs 100 from July 2021, as reported by The New Indian Express.
