Hyderabad: Near stampede-like situation and a massive crowd gathered for the second day in a row for a vaccination drive in Secunderabad. The chaos was due to a shortage of Covaxin supply at a vaccine centre in Secunderabad.

People rushed to the vaccine centre to get their second jab of Covaxin. "There is no queue system here. Today morning when I came at 6 AM, there was a queue but later there were chaotic scenes. People started pushing and a few of them fell down and injured themselves," said Shyamprasad as quoted by the NDTV at the Secunderabad vaccine centre.

"My family and I are coming for two days in a row to get vaccinated but couldn't serve the purpose. There is an acute shortage of Covaxin at this vaccine centre. Besides, there is no proper people management here. Today I have waited since 6 AM and after three hours a large number of people gatecrashed and since then chaotic situation emerged," said a person who came to get his second jab of Covaxin, according to NDTV report.

This is not the first time that the city has faced an acute shortage of Covid vaccines. Earlier, it was reported that many parts of the state have faced these issues.
