Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leaders have decided to hold protests, demanding to accelerate paddy procurement in the state, at Indira Park here on Saturday and Sunday.


Slamming the state government, TPCC president Revanth Reddy said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was responsible for the paddy crisis in Telangana. He said that the Central and state governments were playing with the lives of farmers by not buying the harvested crops. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister KCR have been responsible for the farmers' distress, added Revanth.


Kolhapur constituency leaders and TRS NRI Cell America unit president Abhilash Rao, along with hundreds of his followers, joined the Congress party on Thursday at Gandhi Bhavan.






Telangana Congress party has been hosting different events, including rallies and protests, throughout the last few days. To speed up the paddy purchase, party leaders in numerous districts have written to the district collectors and other agriculture department officials on November 25.


Former PCC chief V. Hanmantha Rao led the protests in the Mancheriyal district and wrote to the Joint Collector Madhusudhan Naik citing their demands. Former MLC Ramulu Naik, former Minister Gaddam Vinod, Janak Prasad, Sanjeev Rao and others also took part in the events.
