Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy wrote an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday demanding the State government to increase the maximum age limit for all kinds of police vacancies to five years.

Revanth Reddy wrote in a letter that employment notification for the recruitment of police employees has 17,000 vacancies in the department. According to the Job notification, most openings are for police constables. The state government has granted only a three-year age relaxation, and if the age limit is not raised to five years, four million candidates will be automatically disqualified.

Revanth Reddy stated that the government should think about the future of the Telangana youth who campaigned for statehood. He warned the TRS government that until the age restriction relaxation is reconsidered, the Congress party will take to the streets to fight for the rights of the state's unemployed youth.

Congress leader said, in addition to the IPS posts to be filled by the UPSC, the maximum age limit for uniform posts in many states is 32 years. So it is appropriate to increase in Telangana for another two years. We demand that the age limit for the recruitment of constable posts be relaxed to 5 years.
