Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leaders have lodged complaints at various police stations across the state over remarks made by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma against Rahul Gandhi. Several Congress leaders complained with Telangana PCC president Revant Reddy and senior congress leader Shabbir Ali at the Jubilee Hills police station in Hyderabad on Monday.

They said in the complaint that a criminal case should be registered against Himanta Bishwa Sharma, and he should be arrested immediately.

Himanta Biswa, speaking at a gathering in Uttarakhand on February 11, criticised Rahul Gandhi for demanding documentation of the surgical strikes in September 2016. He further inquired as to whether the BJP had ever sought proof that he was the "son of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi."

Revanth said, "Why did the Chief Electoral Officer not order the arrest of Himanta Biswa Sarma?" Uttarakhand police are expected to report to the Central Electoral Commission and arrest. The BJP is expected to replace the CM, but unfortunately, BJP justifies his remarks.

" Some say it was an insult to the Gandhi family. But, it is a disgrace to the women of this country," he said as quoted by ABP Desam. He demanded that an FIR be registered against our complaint, and notices should be given to the Assam CM immediately.

Congress MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has lodged a complaint with the police seeking registration of a case against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma. On Sunday, he went to the Errupalem police station along with Khammam district Errupalem Mandal Congress committee leaders and complained.

Congress spokesperson Punna Kailash lodged a written complaint at the Nalgonda Twotown police station on Monday.
