BRS Not B-Team Of Any Party, It Is A Team Of Farmers, Dalits: KCR In Maharashtra

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao slammed what he called the tendency to label BRS as a B-team of other parties.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was not aligned with the BJP, Congress, or any other party and asserted that it was a "team of farmers, marginalised communities, minorities and Dalits", PTI reported.

Addressing a public meeting in Maharashtra's Solapur district, Rao said, "I want to make it clear to people of Maharashtra and India that BRS is not a team of any party. We are ourselves a party. We are a team of farmers, Dalits, backwards and minorities. We have no need to become A team or B team of somebody."

At the public meeting, Bhagirath Bhalke, the son of former National Congress Party MLA Bharat Bhalke, joined the BRS.

KCR and his cabinet colleagues arrived in Pandharpur on Monday in a motorcade of 600 vehicles. He offered prayers at the Vitthal Rukmini temple in the town on Tuesday.

KCR's response came after Sanjay Raut, a leader from the Shiv Sena's Thackeray group, labeled the BRS as the "B" team of the BJP, suggesting that it was working against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. 

Expressing his confusion over the criticism towards the BRS, KCR questioned why other parties were fearful and panicking about its presence in Maharashtra. He stated that the BRS was a relatively small party that had just begun its operations in Maharashtra.

KCR also emphasised that the BRS was not limited to Telangana and Maharashtra but was a national party with the vision of transforming India.

The Telangana Chief Minister appealed to farmers to unite and support a farmer-centric political party that can work for their welfare. He emphasised that this unity was crucial in order to address the challenges faced by the farming community effectively.

At the rally, Rao said the BRS was the only party that brought the slogan "Abki Baar Kisan Sarkar". "Now that farmers are associating themselves with the BRS, they (opponents) are scared, and that is why they are making any statements," he said.
