Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao congratulated Padma Shri awardee and well-known Dhol player Sakini Ramachandraiah and announced a house site for him in Kothagudem and Rs 1 crore to help with the construction.


CM KCR met Sakini Ramachandraiah on Tuesday at Pragathi Bhavan and thanked him for his efforts in conserving and promoting the Adivasi culture. Sakini Ramachandraiah was given the Padma Shri award in honour of his services, the Chief Minister said.


He ordered Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao to work with Ramachandraiah and make the appropriate arrangements for deciding the location of the house and overseeing its construction.


On the occasion of the Padma Awards from Telangana on January 26 , the Central Government announced the awards for five persons from the southern state. A total of 128 people across the country have received the Padma Awards. 


Bharat Biotech CMD Srikrishna Ella and Suchitra Ella announced the Padma Bhushan award for the couple. Ramachandraiah and Padmaja Reddy were also nominated for the Padma Shri awards along with Darshanam Mogulaiah.


 






Earlier, Chief Minister KCR felicitated Kinnera artist Darshanam Mogulaiah and announced that the government would give a house site in Hyderabad and contribute Rs 1 crore towards the building and other costs. Mogulaiah is a Kinnera player, a magnificent string instrument created from string thread, bamboo sticks, spherical pumpkins, honey, wax, bull horns, and mirrors.
