Five men from Telangana were reunited with their families in Hyderabad after enduring an 18-year separation. Shared by BRS party, as a reunion facilitated by BRS leader KT Rama Rao, the video capturing the heartfelt moment quickly went viral on social media platforms. The men, who had been working in Dubai, had been imprisoned following accusations related to the death of a Nepali national.


The emotional video depicted scenes of family members hugging one another and celebrating their long-awaited reunion.














According to ANI, five residents of Telangana's Rajanna Sircilla district reached home after 18 years of imprisonment in Dubai after BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao's intervention.

In 2005, five residents from Telangana's Rajanna Sircilla district, namely Shivarathri Mallesh, Shivarathri Ravi, Gollem Nampally, Dundugula Laxman and Shivarathri Hanmanthu, employed in Dubai found themselves accused with the death of a Nepali national who worked as a watchman in the Gulf nation. Subsequently, they were charged and granted prison sentences of 25 years.


The BRS attributed the successful efforts for their release to their leader and former Telangana minister, KTR. Acknowledging his advocacy, the party credited KTR who took a step further by traveling to Nepal to meet with the victim's family, offering them financial compensation amounting to Rs 15 lakh in 2011.


In 2023, KTR urged the government of the United Arab Emirates to consider and approve the mercy petition filed on behalf of the five men. Additionally, he held meetings with senior officials in Dubai to discuss the particulars of the case.


Ultimately, following an amnesty granted by the Dubai court, all five individuals were released. KTR also took the initiative to arrange their flight tickets for their journey back home.
