Telangana BJP president Kishan Reddy called on Janasena party founder and actor Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday to forge a pre-poll alliance for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections to be held next month. Janasena, in a release, said that BJP leaders met Pawan Kalyan at his office in Hyderabad.

The release quoted Pawan Kalyan as saying, "There will be clarity in a day or two on the pre-poll alliance."

Pawan Kalyan also said that he was under pressure but did not elaborate on it. Janasena is in a tie-up with BJP in Andhra Pradesh. The party is also a part of the NDA.

According to the release, Janasena helped Telugu Desam and BJP candidates win the 2014 Assembly elections. Additionally, the party led by Pawan Kalyan withdrew from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations election at the request of the senior leadership of the saffron party.

In Telangana, Pawan Kalyan informed the BJP leaders that there was pressure from his party cadre to contest in at least 30 seats. Earlier, Janasena also announced that they would contest 32 Assembly constituencies out of a total of 119 on November 30.

In Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan's party said that he was with NDA but also extended his support to TDP.

Bolisetty Satyanarayana, state general secretary and Jana Sena spokesperson said, “Pawan Kalyan said that though I am in NDA, I am coming out to say that we will support the TDP as they are weak now. This does not mean he is leaving NDA. It means despite being a part of NDA, Kalyan will support TDP as they are weak now.”

He also said that they are with TDP to throw YSRCP out of Andhra Pradesh.

Previously, Pawan Kalyan also visited Chandrababu Naidu in the Rajahmundry Central Jail where the latter is lodged.
