Union Minister and Telangana BJP unit president G. Kishan Reddy launched a scathing attack on the BRS government, accusing it of not fulfilling its promises to the people, especially rain-affected farmers. Speaking at the inauguration of a PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendra in Hyderabad on Thursday, Reddy alleged that the BRS government failed to provide farmers with loan waiver and free fertilisers.

The BJP leader further criticised the government for not effectively implementing the crop insurance scheme, which left farmers in distress. Additionally, he criticised the government's failure to provide Rs 10,000 per acre for crop loss due to rains, despite the Chief Minister's announcement.

Reddy pointed out that the state government had pledged to make Telangana the 'seed bowl of India,' but the issue of spurious seeds has emerged as a major problem. Reddy also questioned the chief minister's commitment to providing free fertilisers to farmers, highlighting that the NDA government at the Centre offers substantial subsidies on urea. Reddy asked. "Why you are not giving free fertilisers (to farmers)?" The BRS government has not fulfilled farm loan waiver and the farmers are suffering as they are also not getting crop loans, he alleged.

In response to the heavy rains and resulting damage in the state, Reddy revealed that the state unit of the BJP would seek assistance from the Central government to provide relief to those affected.

"I have talked to the Home Secretary and also some collectors today. We have decided to take help from the central government to give relief to rain affected people in the state. I have also talked to the Home Secretary and Disaster Management in Charge in this regard," said Kishan Reddy.

He highlighted the NDA government's commitment to pro-farmer initiatives. Reddy pointed out that the government has established 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras all over the country, providing vital support to farmers. In Telangana alone, more than 4,000 of these centres are being set up to further assist and empower farmers in the state.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has upgraded all fertiliser dealer shops across the country into a one-stop centre as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samridhi Kendra. Through these centres, farmers can get solutions and guidance for any problems they face, including farming, seeds, fertilisers, marketing, bank loans, and others. In this regard, around 4900 shops in Telangana have been upgraded as one-stop centres," he said.
