Two persons, including an elderly woman, were killed and five others were injured when members of two families clashed over a land dispute in a village in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district of Telangana on Monday. The incident happened in an agricultural field in Jakkulapalli village of Rebbena mandal in the district, PTI reported. Around eight to ten people from each group clashed and allegedly attacked everyone with sticks and axes, resulting in the immediate death of two individuals. Five others sustained injuries, with two of them in critical condition, and they were subsequently admitted to different hospitals, as stated by the police.
“Some members of the two groups (of two families) clashed due to land dispute resulting in the death of two persons and injuries to five others,” a senior police official told PTI.
The accused have been taken into custody, and the situation is now under control, with a police picket deployed in the village. Police teams have visited the village, a case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing.

On Thursday, the Cyberabad police claimed to have cracked three murder cases with the arrest of a "serial killer" in Hyderabad. According to The Siaset Daily report, the accused, Byagari Praveen, a 34-year-old resident of Laxmiguda in Mailardevpally, killed two footpath dwellers in different locations on the intervening night of June 20 and 21. Another person was killed on the intervening night of June 7 and 8 within the Mailardevpally police station limits.
After the murders, special teams were formed by the Cyberabad police, who eventually apprehended the suspect. Praveen's arrest was facilitated by the analysis of CCTV footage from the area where the crimes took place.
The accused was a habitual offender and was involved in eight prior cases. He was previously arrested in 2011 and again in 2014, when he was sentenced to life imprisonment but later acquitted. Additionally, he was connected to two burglaries reported in 2010 and two snatching cases reported in 2011.
