Hyderabad: Omicron cases are gradually increasing in Telangana. 12 new Omicron cases have been recorded, taking the state's tally to 56, the health department said on Monday.


Meanwhile, Telangana recorded 182 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total to 6,80,844, with one more death bringing the death toll to 4,023 in the state.


On Monday, 181 people were claimed to have recovered from Covid. The total number of recoveries made so far is 6,73,404.


According to the bulletin, there were 3,417 active cases.


 According to the report, a total of 37,839 samples were analysed on Monday, bringing the total number of samples tested to 2,95,54,306.



Three Omicron Cases in Rajanna Sirisilla district


The district's Omicron tally now stands at four after the discovery of three new Omicron cases on Monday. 


Recently a man who returned from Dubai was found infected with the virus. The victim's wife, mother and friend recently contracted the virus. Officials said victims were shifted to Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (TIMS), Hyderabad, for treatment.


Contact tracing and testing of those who have come into contact with the three Omicron-infected people has begun by the district health authorities.


Meanwhile, a 24-year-old foreign returnee from Warangal's Bank Colony tested positive for Omicron on Monday. Warangal district medical health officer K Venkataramana said that people should be vigilant at the time of the outbreak of the coronavirus, observe physical distance and wear masks.
