Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) Working President and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao wrote to PM Narendra Modi stating that the Centre's recent publicity stunt called 'Rozgar Mela' is a cruel joke on unemployed youth.


KTR said that PM Modi had unveiled this “new drama” before Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections. KTR recalled PM Modi's pledge to fill two crore jobs annually, saying that 16 crore positions were intended to be filled during the previous eight years but to no avail.


In the letter, Minister KTR requested the publication of a white paper detailing the number of positions filled by the BJP administration during the previous eight years. He also highlighted the annual retirement rate for central government employees, the effects of selling public sector enterprises, and other topics.


He questioned the central government on the amount of employment opportunities it could have provided, pointing to the number of jobs filled by the Telangana government.

KTR added that the Telangana government has started the process of filling 91,000 additional government jobs in addition to the 1.50 lakh positions it has already filled. The private sector also offered 16.5 lakh jobs and employment prospects.This was done in the Telangana state with a 3.5 crore population, said KTR.


Minister KTR has questioned the Centre about the number of jobs it has filled in the country, which has 130 crore people..


KTR said that during the announcement about Rozgar Mela, the Central Government stated that vacancies in 38 Central departments would be filled.  He sought clarity on the time the vacancies would be filled. He wondered if the central government would release a national job calendar for unemployed young people.
