The mortal remains of an Indian student who was found dead in Cleveland of United States have been returned to his family in Hyderabad for funeral rites. Mohammed Abdul Arfath, a 25-year-old Indian student who went to the United States for his studies in 2023, went missing on March 7 and was later found dead. 


According to ANI, the mortal remains of Indian student Mohammed Abdul Arfath, who was found dead in Cleveland, US earlier this month, brought to his residence in Hyderabad. He was reportedly missing since March 7th and went to the US in 2023 for a Master's degree at Cleveland State University.

Taking to X, India in New York stated: "Anguished to learn that Mohammed Abdul Arfath, for whom search operation was underway, was found dead in Cleveland, Ohio. Our deepest condolences to Mr Mohammed Arfath’s family. India in New York is in touch with local agencies to ensure a thorough investigation into Mr Mohammed Abdul Arfath’s death. We are extending all possible assistance to the bereaved family to transport his mortal remains to India."


Mohammed Abdul Arfath aspired to settle down in the United States. His father revealed that he provided him with foreign currency worth Rs 10 lakh when he departed for the U.S. in May 2023. Describing his son as a clean individual, his father said that his son was not into any bad habits. However, the family last month received a ransom call from a drug-related gang. The father admitted he didn't understand how his son got into trouble in the U.S.
