Former Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao has suffered a hip injury after he fell in his bathroom at his residence and would require hip replacement surgery for the same. In a statement, Yashoda Hospital Somajiguda said the former Chief Minister was brought here after he slipped and fell at his home and after evaluating his CT scan reports, they found he has fracture his left hip (Intracapsular Neck of femur fracture).

"He would require left hip replacement for the same and the usual course of recovery for such cases is expected to be six to eight weeks. He is being constantly monitored by a multi-disciplinary team including Orthopaedic, Anaesthesia, General Medicine, and Pain Medicine," the hospital said.

It added that Rao's condition is stable and the hospital will update his health status periodically.

KCR's daughter K Kavitha said, "My father, KCR Garu will be undergoing a major surgery due to the unfortunate accident. We are touched to see the outpour of prayers and blessings for Dad. We join the BRS family and well wishers to pray for our leader KCR Garu’s speedy and healthy recovery."

Meanwhile, newly elected Telangana CM Revanth Reddy also visited the hospital to enquire about KCR's health status.

"Inquired about the health condition of former Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhara Rao. The Health Secretary was directed to visit the hospital and ensure that he gets better medical services and report the situation from time to time. I wish KCR a speedy recovery," CM Reddy said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a post and said he prays for the speedy recovery of the BRS chief. "Distressed to know that former Telangana CM Shri KCR Garu has suffered an injury. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health," the PM said.

KCR's daughter and party MLC K Kavitha confirmed the news in a post on X, formerly Twitter. "BRS supremo KCR Garu sustained a minor injury and is currently under expert care in the hospital. With the support and well-wishes pouring in, Dad will be absolutely fine soon. Grateful for all the love," she said.

The BRS chief, who led the party to victory twice since the formation of the state in 2014, couldn't manage the same performance this year.
