Hyderabad:  Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao hoisted the national flag marking India's 76th Independence Day celebrations at Golconda Fort on Monday. On this occasion, the CM said that 1.25 crore flags had been distributed across Telangana, and the state adored the tricolour.


"We are enjoying the freedom because of the sacrifices of the nobles. Their struggles will live forever in the hearts of people. We achieved Telangana through non-violence. The state is on the path of progress and is acquiring many unprecedented successes. Telangana has become a formidable economic power. We are providing 24 hours electricity to all sectors. We have achieved a growth rate of 11.6 per cent in cultivation. We stand top in the country in sheep breeding. With a growth rate of 11.1 per cent, we are at the top of industrial progress," the CM said.

Public welfare is the primary responsibility of governments. Telangana government has laid great emphasis on welfare of the people. He said that every community is being protected. He explained that from Monday we are providing pensions to another 10 lakh people under the 'Asara' (social security) scheme. With this, the number of Asara pensioners in the state will reach 46 lakh. 


He stated that the Telangana government had paid particular attention to the people of the rural areas and the agriculture sector, making the highest development possible in agriculture-related sectors.


CM said that financial assistance is being provided for the marriage of girls through 'Kalyana Lakshmi' and 'Shaadi Mubarak' Schemes. It's been reported that Rs 9,176 crores have been spent on 11.24 lakh people under these schemes.
