In a fresh salvo to the Centre, IT and Industries Minister for Telangana, KT Rama Rao through his Tweets put up some figures and claimed that if only BJP states performed on par with Telangana, India would now be a $4.6TN Economy.


Also, the TRS leader took a dig at Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who is on a three-day visit to the state as part of 'Lok Sabha Pravas Yojana', for pulling up Kamareddy district collector over several issues in the district.


In a series of tweets, KTR said the significance of Telangana in , "Madam FM waxes eloquent on Fiscal prudence; Till 2014, in 67 years 14 Prime Ministers of India together have raised a debt of ₹ 56 Lakh Crores. Then came PM Modi Ji; in the last 8 years alone India’s debt incremented by ₹ 100 Lakh Crores. Every Indian has a debt of ₹1.25 Lakh.


Citing RBI's October 2021 report, KTR claimed that Telangana with 2.5 per cent of Indian population contributes 5 per cent to country's GDP. He further said that the nation needs double impact governance and not futile double engines. "Per capita income of Telangana in 2022 is ₹2.78 Lakh. National Average per capita income is ₹1.49 Lakh. Debt:GSDP ratio of Telangana is 23.5 % (lowest at 23rd among 28 Indian states). Nation’s Debt: GDP ratio is 59%," KTR claimed.





Meanwhile, the Telangana state cabinet on Saturday decided to mark September 17 as the ‘Telangana National Integration Day’ on the occasion of Hyderabad completing 75 years as part of the Indian Union this year. The cabinet also decided to organise the opening ceremony of ‘Vajrotsavalu’ on September 16,17 and 18 on a grand scale across the state.
