Suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh was brought to Nampally Court in Hyderabad after being arrested by police on Tuesday in connection with his alleged derogatory comments against Prophet Muhammad. With protests turning violent outside the Nampally court during Raja Singh was produced in court, police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd protesting.


Two groups were present at the spot as Raja Singh was arrested, a group supporting the BJP leader staged a protest while another group of people was raising slogans against Raja Singh.

Earlier on Tuesday, Raja Singh was arrested by Hyderabad police for his derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad. Hours after Goshamahal MLA's arrest, the BJP Central Disciplinary Committee suspended him from the party for clear violation of constitution of the party.


The BJP Central Disciplinary Committee, in an order, said, "I have been directed to convey to you that pending further inquiry, you are suspended from the party and from your responsibilities/assignments if any, with immediate effect. Please also show cause within 10 days from the date of this notice as to why should you not be expelled from the party. Your detailed reply must reach the undersigned no later than September 22, 2022."


Meanwhile, Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Ajmadullah Khan warned the TRS government of not getting votes from the Muslim community in the upcoming Assembly elections if not taken stern action against BJP's Raja Singh. The MBT spokesperson said that Raja Singh should not only be arrested but should be booked under PD Act and he should be punished with rigorous imprisonment for at least two years for his derogatory comments.


"If you are not taking stern action against Raja Singh, none of the Muslim votes will go for the TRS government in the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections," said MBT spokesperson, Ajmadullah Khan.



Meanwhile, security was beefed up at the Bolaram Police Station where MLA Raja Singh was taken in custody.
