Hyderabad Police stopped YSRTP chief YS Sharmila from leaving her Lotus Pond residence for Osmania Hospital for a visit to know the problems faced by patients on Tuesday. A scuffle broke out between Sharmila's supporters and the police when she came out of her residence and in the chaos she fell down.

According to an IANS report, YSRTP said its leader wanted to conduct a 'Janata Raid' at Osmania Hospital to know the problems faced by patients and the pathetic facilities. Later, Sharmila sat on a dharna outside her residence.

Speaking to the media outside her house, she appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to take cognizance of what she called "tyranny" by the CM KCR-led government in Telangana.

"It is once again proved that the state is severely reeling under the dictatorship and tyranny of KCR and is in turn afraid of the growing response to YSRTP. He has failed the state in every aspect, and his promises today have no value as they are all fake," Sharmila said, as quoted by IANS.

Sharmila said Osmania Hospital was the most important healthcare facility in the state but was "crumbling" under the government's apathy, and failing norms and values.

She also questioned the government's Rs 200-crore proposal for the improvement and expansion of the Osmania hospital. She alleged that the Opposition and other "protesting voices" were consistently targeted by the government.

"We tried to carry out the Janata Raid, where we wanted to interact with patients and understand their problems. It is shocking and highly deplorable that we had to be stopped, thereby breaching our fundamental rights and freedom. What crime have we committed? Why am I repeatedly targeted?" she further asked.
