Telangana Police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd that thronged a restaurant in Hyderabad's Malakpet allegedly to get free Haleem earlier on Tuesday. The restaurant management dialed the police after the crowd went out of control causing a massive traffic jam in the area, according to news agency PTI.
Visuals of the crowd were shared by PTI where the police on the ground were seen using lathis to disperse the people gathered.
According to a report by Telangana Today, a few persons sustained injuries when the police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse the unruly crowd that gathered for a ‘free haleem’ at the restaurant located at Chaderghat.

Hyderabad: Hotel Inauguration Offer Gone Wrong
The hotel ‘Aazebo’ was inaugurated on Tuesday and the management decided to provide haleem free of cost to the public. On coming to know about it, a big crowd gathered in front of the hotel and a near-stampede situation prevailed, the report stated.
On realizing that the situation was going out of hand, the police resorted to a mild lathi charge and dispersed the mob. The restaurant had halted its business for an hour till semblance was brought by the police and management, the report mentioned.
The unruly gathering led to a massive traffic jam in the area, disrupting normal life in Hyderabad.
