Hyderabad: Telangana Woman and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod and Home Minister Md Mahmood Ali Thursday visited the bereaved parents of the 6-year-old Saidabad girl who was raped and murdered earlier this week.

Rathod offered a cheque for Rs 20 lakh, an ex gratia amount, to the victim's family and promised to give a 2BHK flat from the lot the TRS government is building for the economically backward classes in the state.

The home minister said women’s safety is of utmost priority for the TRS governance and it is very unfortunate that an incident like this happened in the state.

Meanwhile, the dead body of the rape-murder accused, Raji, was found on railway tracks in Jangaon district on Thursday morning. The police identified the body with the help of identification marks and the tattoos on hands.

Two days ago, Telangana Labour minister Malla Reddy had said the accused would be encountered once he is caught by the police.

The home minister had also assured the victim's family that justice will be done, and that the accused would be punished once the police nabs him.

The Hyderabad Police Wednesday released several photographs of the suspect in their efforts to trace him. The photos included the possible disguises he might have adopted to evade arrest. “Notwithstanding possibilities of the perpetrator causing change in his attributes such as hairstyle, beard etc…certain computer-generated most probable disguised images of the accused are being shared,” the Hyderabad Police tweeted in Telugu.
