Hyderabad: Saidabad rape and murder accused -- Raju -- was found dead on the railway tracks in the limits of Ghanpur station in Telangana's Jangaon district on Thursday. The dead body of the accused was identified by the tattooes and other identification marks on his body.
Taking to Twitter, Telangana DGP said, "#AttentionPlease : The accused of "Child Sexual Molestation and murder @ Singareni Colony, found dead on the railway track, in the limits of #StationGhanpurPoliceStation. Declared after the verification of identification marks on deceased body."
Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao -- who faced flak for putting out wrong information earlier that the accused was caught, took to Twitter saying, "Just been informed by @TelanganaDGP Garu that the beast who raped the child has been traced & found dead on a railway track at station Ghanpur #JusticeForChaithra"
This comes two days after the Telangana Labour Minister Malla Reddy asserted that the government will catch the accused and encounter him. On the same day while releasing a descriptive particulars notice about the sexual offender the Hyderabad Police announced a reward of Rs 10 lakhs to people helping them to arrest the fugitive accused in Hyderabad.
The incident took place on September 9, Thursday, according to police, the accused identified as Raju is a 30-year-old man was a family neighbour of the victim and he had befriended the six-year-old before comitting the crime. The girl was found dead in Raju's house on the same day.
