The 31-year-old woman, operating a digital marketing business, initially contacted the anchor through an instant messaging app and persistently sent him messages. Despite the anchor reportedly blocking her, her determination to marry him led her to devise a plan to reconcile their differences, said the police, as per a report on NDTV.

Following this, she employed four individuals and relied on technology to track the victim's movements. She orchestrated a ploy to kidnap him. On February 11, the hired men abducted the victim and took him to the woman's office where they subjected him to severe physical assault, as per the police. Fearing for his safety, the TV anchor agreed to the woman's demands and was later released, they said, as per the report.
