Chennai: A nine-year-old minor girl was raped by an autorickshaw driver in Hyderabad more than once in the last three days. The rape of the minor also comes amid a series of sexual assaults on minor girls in and around Hyderabad.
According to a report on Telangana Today, the accused was identified as Saleem, a driver at Malakpet market. Recently, the accused started to call the minor under the pretext of sending her to a nearby shop but instead took her to his home and raped her multiple times. He also threatened the girl to not reveal about the rape to her parents.
However, the girl's mother started to observe behavioural changes in the survivor and started to quiz her. Soon the girl opened up about what had happened to her.

The mother immediately lodged a complaint with LB Nagar police. The police booked a case against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and SC/ST (POA) Act.
From the time the gang-rape of a 17-year-old girl was reported in Jubilee Hills on May 28, at least eight other minors have been raped till now.

Another rape reported recently involved a duo who allegedly raped two minor siblings on various occasions over the past one year.
The ACP Sudhir also said that the accused were habitual offenders who were involved in property-related offenses in Hyderabad.
