Chennai: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will undertake an aerial survey to assess the flood-related damages due to rains in catchment areas of River Godavari on Sunday, said a release from the CM's office. The aerial survey will include the catchment areas of Godavari, Kadem project in Nirmal district and Bhadrachalam.
A release from CM's office said, "Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao will undertake an aerial survey on Sunday morning to assess the natural calamity and flood-related damages due to incessant rains in river Godavari catchment zones.”
“The CM will conduct aerial survey on Godavari between Kadem project and Bhadrachalam. The Chief Secretary will also join CM in the survey. The official machinery will finalize the Chopper route for aerial survey," it said.
The release also said that Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao was holding a review with doctors and higher officials to take necessary measures to contain the spread of communicable diseases in flood-affected areas. After the CM's aerial survey, the Health Department is prepared to take next course of action.

The Principal Secretary to Health Rizvi also took part in the meeting. During the review, Minister told the officials to take up steps for curbing the spread of diseases in flood-affected and submerged areas near River Godavari. The Health Minister also told to cancel all leaves approved to the doctors without fail and to make everyone report for work.
After rains battered Telangana for seven days till Thursday, parts of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district continued to remain in the water as several people continued their stay in relief camps for safety.
More than 10 people also died in rain-related mishaps till now. Meanwhile, Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy wrote to PM Modi on Saturday requesting to declare Telangana floods as a National Disaster. He also demanded PM to release an immediate relief package of Rs 2000 crore and provide financial compensation to farmers and kin of the deceased persons.
