Chennai: A group of people allegedly barged into the house of a 24-year-old woman and kidnapped her in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana on Friday. The family members also said that they were reportedly attacked by the miscreants. However, with the help of the police, the woman was later rescued after a six-hour search operation. The police also arrested sixteen accused under various sections of IPC. 


According to ANI, “ A 24-year-old woman was kidnapped from her house in Adibatla y'day (Friday). Her parents alleged that around 100 youths barged into their house, forcibly took their daughter away and vandalised the house.”



The parents alleged that the youngsters armed with sticks entered the house and ransacked the house. The gang damaged some parked vehicles, too, according to CCTV visuals.


Later, they forcibly took the woman.


Her mother said that the assailants attacked her relatives and neighbours also when they resisted. She added that she suspect the hand of the person who had proposed to her daughter.


On receiving the information, the police reached the scene and began an investigation. Special teams were formed to catch the gang, said the police.


Based on the complaint from the family, the police have registered an FIR and a probe is underway.

The police told Hindustan Times that the key accused K Naveen Reddy is a promoter of a chain of tea outlets. Naveen Reddy had reportedly told the cops that he married the woman who was a dentist. However, her parents said they are not married and her daughter rejected the proposal of the guy.
