On the day Congress released its manifesto for Telangana Assembly elections in Hyderabad on Friday, BRS leaders swiftly criticized it. Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali dubbed the manifesto "useless and full of lies". In tandem, BRS leader Putta Vishnuvardhan Reddy accused Congress of deliberately confusing the public with numerous schemes, guarantees, and promises, all without considering Telangana's annual budget.
Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali criticised Congress party's manifesto as "useless and full of lies". He claimed that Congress was misleading the people with false promises. He said, "Anyone can promise anything while in Opposition but cannot come to power. They can only promise."
According to ANI, BRS leader Putta Vishnuvardhan Reddy said, "The last couple of months, whenever they are touring around Telangana, they've given nomenclature like schemes, guarantees, promises, now manifesto. What they are trying to do is they're trying to confuse people."
"Even implementing the six guarantees that they gave a couple of months ago, will cross the annual budget of the Telangana government. And now, over and above those six guarantees, they have come up with a slew of manifesto items," he said.
Further, Reddy said that Congress was desperate and it was evident in the manifesto and cited Karnataka Budget challenges in implementing the promises made by the party. He said, "Most of these manifesto items are nothing but a copy-paste of already what's being implemented in the Telangana state by the BRS government. So there is nothing new to it other than adding a few additional things to the existing schemes."
"So what we are trying to say is the Congress party is desperate. The frustration is evident because of the manifesto that they released today. They don't have a clear picture of what kind of budget is required, and what resources are required to implement the manifesto. And the best example for us to see is what's happening in Karnataka in May 2023. Six months..." he added.
