The Congress government in Telangana will start with the implementation of two of the six guarantees to the people of the state on the birthday of party leader Sonia Gandhi on December 9. The state cabinet made this decision in the first meeting chaired by CM Revanth Reddy at Telangana Secretariat. After the Cabinet meeting, Minister D Sridhar Babu told media persons that guarantees relating to free travel for women in TSRTC buses and enhancing the coverage of Rajiv Aarogyasri health insurance to Rs 10 lakh will be implemented from December 9.
D Sridhar Babu mentioned that the Chief Minister is scheduled to conduct a meeting with officials from the relevant departments to facilitate the implementation of these two assurances.
Sridhar Babu added that the government will obtain the necessary data from the concerned departments to execute the remaining guarantees. Despite this, he reassured that the government remains dedicated to fulfilling all six guarantees within the stipulated 100-day timeframe.
On the other promises made in the manifesto, the Minister said that those will be fulfilled during the five-year term of the government. The Cabinet also discussed the state finances.
Officials have received instructions to provide comprehensive information on budget allocations and expenditures for all departments covering the period from 2014 to 2023. The spokesperson mentioned that a white paper on state finances will be published, offering transparency to the public by revealing all relevant details.
Telangana's New CM, Deputy CM Never Held Administrative Posts Earlier
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka never held administrative posts before this. However, the 54-year-old steered the party to first electoral victory in India's youngest state.
The same was true for Vikramarka, who took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. Vikramarka, a Dalit, comes from the family of Congress loyalists.
