Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao targeted the Congress on Wednesday, June 28, on the occasion of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao's birth anniversary. He stated that the Congress had insulted Rao during his lifetime and continued to do so even after his death. Taking to Twitter, KTR said “I’ve said this before and I reiterate: Sri PV Narasimha Rao Garu was the most effective and efficient Prime Minister since independence of India. It's a matter of great pride to remember him and recognise his tremendous contributions to the country on his birth anniversary”.


“A man who truly deserves to be Bharat Ratna He was also the most underrated and undermined PM; both by Indian media and his own political party that insulted him in life and even after he passed away Sad but a hard truth,” he added.

On Wednesday, family members of Narasimha Rao and leaders from different political parties paid tribute to him on his 102nd birth anniversary. Narasimha Rao's daughter and BRS MLC Vani Devi, along with other family members and leaders from the BRS, Congress, BJP, and other parties, gathered at PV Gnana Bhumi, the late leader's Samadhi located on the banks of Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad.


Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also paid their respects to Narasimha Rao. CM KCR recalled that PV Narasimha Rao, who hailed from Telangana, had successfully steered the country out of critical situations. He stated in a message that the people are now benefiting from the financial reforms introduced by Narasimha Rao during his tenure as Prime Minister.


KCR further emphasised that Narasimha Rao laid the foundations of modern India and aspired to place the country on a high growth trajectory akin to developed nations. The Chief Minister praised Narasimha Rao's political approach and efficient administration, highlighting the significant contributions he made for the nation.
