A day after BRS released a booklet titled 'Congress 420 assurances' to "remind" the Congress leadership of promises it had made to the people before the Assembly Elections in November, Congress leader G Niranjan said that they were aware of the promises they made and they would fulfill those promises. Further, he asked how could BRS print '420' on the Congress symbol.
On BRS releasing a booklet titled “Congress 420 assurances”, Congress leader G Niranjan said, "We know what we (Congress) have promised. I want to ask: What does this (BRS' booklet) mean? We will try to fulfil the promises we have made. How can you (BRS) print '420' on our (Congress) party's symbol? We will demand to strike off the BRS party's recognition in a meeting with the Election Commission."
Addressing at the release of the booklet, former Minister K T Rama said, the party would distribute the booklet to the party workers to remind the national party about the promises it made in SC, ST, BC, women and youth declarations.
The BRS party reportedly named the booklet as Congress 420 since Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code deals with cheating and dishonesty. The BRS, according to Telangana Today said, the Congress' promises would fall in the same category unless they implement them.
The BRS emphasized that the numerous assurances made by the Congress Party through declarations and election manifestoes could be deemed fraudulent unless the government takes genuine steps to implement them.
