Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday demanded the Center to procure paddy from farmers of Telangana. He further said at a press conference here that the Centre should constitute a 'One Nation One Procurement' policy.

KCR said 100 per cent of the grain is being procured from Punjab and Haryana by the Centre due to the protests. Telangana has also brought in many policies to increase crop production and he went on to demand the BJP government at Centre to procure 100 per cent paddy in yasangi (Rabi season) from the state too.

KCR said a delegation of ministers would meet the Food ministry on Tuesday in Delhi and demand the government about the procurement of paddy till the last grain is exhausted. The CM further asserted that there will be large-scale protests if the Centre disagrees to the demands put forward by the delegation.

Speaking about the recently concluded elections in five states, KCR took a dig at the ruling BJP and said that the BJP might think it has technically won, but BJP lost strength in Uttar Pradesh. They need to understand the reduction in seats and that is a sign of downfall, he said. "Eight years have passed since the BJP came to power, but the government has failed to introduce new projects," KCR slammed the Centre.

"The BJP government vowed to provide two lakh jobs, but they are miserably failed in it too. TRS will also stage protests on this issue," the CM warned.

KCR said the BJP government is creating discrimination and hatred among people to gain political mileage and if this government continues, the country will deteriorate further.
