BRS MLC K Kavitha emphasised that true empowerment for women goes beyond measures like providing free cylinders or a monthly stipend. She stressed that to restore women's dignity and achieve genuine empowerment education, employment and financial independence were crucial elements. Kavitha also called on Telangana government to revoke GO-3 and ensure women students have access to secure job opportunities.

According to ANI, BRS MLC K Kavitha said, "Empowering women does not just mean giving free cylinders or giving Rs 1,000 per month. It will help, it is a temporary relief. But when you actually have to really empower a woman, you have to give them education, you have to give them a job, you have to give them a financial source which will support them every month on their own."

"That is restoring the dignity of women. That is true empowerment...So we demand that this (Telangana) government roll back GO-3 and empower our women students to get secure jobs," she said.

In February, the Telangana government passed orders to implement the horizontal reservation of 33.33 percent for women without considering the roster point system.

Stating that Women's Day was typically a time for celebration, Kavitha highlighted the need for continued advocacy to uphold women's rights. She said, “It is very unfortunate that the current Congress government (in Telangana) has bought in a new GO, which has left us with no other option but to protest. Otherwise, on Women’s Day, usually it’s a very jolly mood. We celebrate and remember everyone who protested for us to get our rights. In 1996, we got those rights where 33 per cent reservation was given to us in jobs.”
