Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy on Monday alleged that BJP was using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to force prominent Congress figures in Telangana to join the saffron party. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, he alleged that the BJP government was misusing the ED, Income Tax and Central Bureau of Investigation to weaken the Congress in Telangana and create hurdles for the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Revanth Reddy claimed that the BJP was creating barriers because they were scared about Rahul's popularity with the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He said that the timing of the ED letters to Congress leaders in Telangana and Karnataka was done to cause panic as the Bharat Jodo Yatra passed through these two States.

Revanth Reddy alleged that the ED had issued notices to Congress leaders J Geetha Reddy, Md. Ali Shabbir, Anjan Kumar Yadav, G Anil Kumar, and Sudarshan Reddy. He said that no notice had been issued to any leader who had donated money to the TRS party or the BJP.

He said that ED issued Congress leaders notices for donating Rs 1 crore, whereas BJP received a whopping Rs 4,841 crores.

"CM KCR aims to see that TRS should return to power in Telangana and the BJP at Centre for the third time. He has been making arrangements to establish a new national party and distance all the parties supporting the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led by Congress. Had he made any effort to break some party from BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA)?” asked Revanth Reddy.

He said the relationship between the two parties became stronger after the allotment of land for the party office to TRS in New Delhi.
