Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao has advised workers from Andhra Pradesh who are settled in Telangana to enroll themselves as voters in Telangana. The minister said the workers from Andhra Pradesh who are settled here should cancel their votes in Andhra and register themselves as voters in Telangana.
Harish Rao made the comments in Sangareddy while laying the foundation stone for Mestri Sangham Bhavan.
"Many people from other states have settled in Telangana. There are many from Andhra Pradesh. You have seen both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. You keep visiting Andhra Pradesh, and you know the condition of the roads and hospitals there," Harish Rao said .
The minister quoted CM K Chandrashekar Rao as saying once that anyone who is part of the development of Telangana towns and villages belongs to this land and is our people.

There are an estimated 40 lakh people from the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions who have settled in Telangana. Greater Hyderabad and its surrounding districts have a sizeable number of migrants, often referred to as settlers. Many workers are engaged in the construction sector.
Eight Medical Colleges Have Led To Increase In MBBS Seats: Harish Rao
On Tuesday, Health Minister T Harish Rao said Telangana had achieved growth in the field of medical education with the establishment of eight medical colleges in the past year. He further said MBBS seats in the state have increased by 240 per cent since the state's formation and called it a proof of the state’s commitment to improving healthcare.
The Telangana government will be recruiting more assistant professors, completing the promotion process for associate professors, and provide 65 new promotions, Rao said. The government also aims to fill 1442 assistant professor posts soon, the minister further said.
