On the day his sister YS Sharmila joined Congress, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called on former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who is currently recovering after undergoing a hip replacement surgery last month. Jagan Reddy reached Hyderabad by a special aircraft and drove to KCR's residence in Banjara Hills.

The leader of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) presented a bouquet and shawl to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president, inquiring about his health.

Notably, Jagan met KCR on the same day his sister, YS Sharmila, formally merged her YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) with the Congress party in Delhi. It maybe noted that YS Sharmila initially formed a party to emerge as an alternative to BRS in Telangana.

Meanwhile, this marked Jagan's first meeting with KCR since the BRS lost power to the Congress party in recent Telangana elections. KCR has also been viewed as a rival of Congress. So, the meeting ahead of Andhra Pradesh elections and Lok Sabha polls gain significance.

Upon arrival at Begumpet Airport, Jagan Mohan Reddy was welcomed by BRS leader V. Prashant Reddy, P. Rajeshwar Reddy, and others.

KCR has been recuperating at home since his discharge from the hospital on December 15. He had been admitted to Yashoda Hospital on December 8 following a fall at his farmhouse, resulting in a fracture and subsequent hip replacement surgery.

During his recovery, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, various ministers, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, leaders from different political parties, and some prominent film stars had visited KCR at the hospital.

Meanwhile, BRS released "Congress 420 promises" booklet to "remind" the Congress leadership of promises they made to the people before the Assembly Elections in November.
