Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay has claimed that 25 Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs were in contact with the saffron party. In a tweet, Sanjay said, "25 BRS MLAs are in touch with us. The BJP will not engage in political prostitution like BRS. To join the BJP, one has to resign from the post". He also predicted that in the assembly elections scheduled later this year, BRS candidates will lose deposits in 30 Assembly constituencies.
Bandi Sanjay said that leaders of the BRS are allegedly utilising party offices to engage in illegally receiving commissions and land grabs, while the BJP was utilising its offices to address public issues and advocate for the welfare of the people,.
Addressing the programme at the inauguration of the BJP office, he disputed the claim of KCR, that the Dharani portal (official portal for registration of property) was a good portal developed to help people. "Only KCR's family has benefited from the Dharani portal," he said. Sanjay also stated that Congress has no presence in Telangana state. "Congress had lost a deposit in the Assembly by-election. How can such a party be an alternative in the state?" he asked.
Sanjay reiterated his party's commitment to promoting Hindutva, emphasising that the BJP's influence had led Congress and BRS leaders to visit the Bhagyalakshmi temple at Charminar, signaling towards a shift in their religious inclinations. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s public rally at Khammam on Thursday was put off due to the severity of cyclone Biparjoy.
