Zomato has reportedly announced an increase in its platform fee, raising it from Rs 7 to Rs 10 as the festive season draws near. A notice within the app explained that the fee adjustment is necessary to help cover operational costs, stating, “This fee helps us pay our bills to keep Zomato running. To maintain services during the festive season, it has increased slightly,” as reported by Moneycontrol.

Initially set at Rs 2 in August 2023, the platform fee has seen incremental increases over the past months, including a temporary surge to Rs 9 at the end of December.

Now, if you are looking to save some money on your online food deliveries, you might be better off considering the myriad of other delivery apps in the country, some of which are notably cheaper when it comes to "platform fee".
