New Delhi: Google-owned video streaming giant YouTube has suspended Sansad TV's account and while accessing Sansad TV's page, we got the message: "This page isn't available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else." Sansad TV's YouTube account was hacked by attackers and its name changed to Ethereum. 


Sansad TV airs the live proceedings of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha when the Parliament is in session and the recordings too. According to media reports, the YouTube account of Sansad TV has been suspended for violating YouTube's community guidelines. Several users took to Twitter after being unable to access Sansad TV's YouTube account.


Sansad TV has acknowledged that its YouTube channel was compromised due to unauthorized activities by some scamsters on 15 February (Tuesday) around 1am. They had also gained access to the live streaming on the channel too. "Also, the Channel name has been changed to 'Ethereum' by the attacker. However, Sansad TV's Social Media Team promptly worked on it and got the Sansad TV Channel restored by early morning at around 03:45 am," Sansad TV said in a statement.


"YouTube has started fixing the security threats permanently and it shall be restored ASAP," Sansad TV added.


The YouTube account of Sansad TV showed a 404 error. When we tried to access a video on Sansad TV's YouTube channel, a message read: "This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated".


The nodal agency for responding to cyber security incidents in the country, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has also reported the incident and alerted Sansad TV.  


ABP Live has sent an email to Google which owns YouTube. Their response is awaited. This story is being updated.
