WhatsApp is working to introduce screen-sharing feature during video calls for Android users soon. The world's most popular messaging app is testing the update through Google Play Beta program version 2.23.11.19. According to WhatsApp updates tracker WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned platform is going to release a screen-sharing feature, along with a new placement for tabs within the bottom navigation bar and it is currently available for some beta testers.

"WhatsApp keeps working on improving voice and video calls in the Android app. After introducing changes regarding the color for missed calls in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.10.4 update, WhatsApp is now rolling out a new feature that allows users to easily share their screen during a video call. It seems this feature is available to some beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.11.19 update from the Google Play Store," WABetaInfo wrote on its page.

WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot in which it is being shown how a user will be prompted to share their screen if they tap the "new icon" located in the call control view.

"When you decide to share your screen, everything displayed on your screen will be recorded and shared with the recipient. Note that this feature may be unavailable on old versions of Android, screen-sharing may not work in large group calls, and the recipient may be unable to get the content of your screen in case they are using an outdated version of WhatsApp," WABetaInfo added.

The Meta-owned messaging app has recently introduced a much-needed feature that lets users edit messages within a 15-minute window. Company CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement in a Facebook post last week that WhatsApp users can now edit messages for up to 15 minutes after sending them.

The edit message option has started rolling out to users around the world and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

While WhatsApp is the world's most popular messaging platform, many of its users were waiting for the edit message option as users send messages to people, in which there is a mistake or they write something which they did not want to say.
