Meta-owned WhatsApp is working towards introducing a new interface with new colours and redesigned icons, among other changes. The changes will be introduced on WhatsApp for Android, as per WhatsApp tracking website Wabetainfo. The website has posted several screenshots on its page where one can see key improvements to the WhatsApp interface, which will be rolled out via future updates. WhatsApp for Android will see newly designed new icons aimed to make the interface modern.
The world's most popular messaging platform is also going to do away with the green top banner in favour of a predominant green colour theme for both light and dark modes.
As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp plans to introduce important improvements to the interface, for a future update of the app. Specifically, WhatsApp designed new icons aimed to make the interface more modern by enhancing the overall visual appeal of the app. In addition, WhatsApp is set to introduce a new green colour, along with a revamped chat bubble colour for the dark theme and the floating action button, Wabetainfo mentioned on its page.
It’s important to note that new icons will also be available within the app settings and the chat info screen, as announced in the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.19.1.74 update, the page added.
The improved interface with redesigned icons and colours is currently under development and it will be available via a future update of the app.
To recall, WhatsApp recently added a very useful feature for users in India. In a bid to make it easier to complete a purchase directly in the chat platform in India, the Meta-owned company recently announced that users in the country can add items to their cart and send a payment using the method of their choice from supported UPI apps such as Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, debit and credit cards, and more. It has joined hands with Bengaluru-based Razorpay and PayU to support payments via debit and credit cards as well as UPI apps and net banking across India.
