Meta-owned WhatsApp's integrated artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot is likely to be released soon. The social networking giant, at Meta Connect 2023, had announced it has plans to integrate an AI chatbot into WhatsApp, the workd's most popular messaging platform. The ‘Meta AI’ assistant is currently available only in the US. However, Facebook parent Meta is likely to roll this out for all users soon, the media has reported as the new beta version of WhatsApp comes with the AI assistant. The WhatsApp AI assistant is now available for testing for beta testers.
According to Wabetainfo, beta testers can now download and have a conversation with the AI bot on WhatsApp. It is available for both one-on-one and group chats on the messaging platform.
There is also new floating action button for easier access to the AI feature on the platform.
"In September, Mark Zuckerberg announced a new feature that allows a group of users in the United States to experiment with AI-powered chats, designed at assisting people with their daily activities by providing them with advice and suggestions. WhatsApp is now working to further highlight this feature, with plans for a broader release to more users in the future. Specifically, after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.26 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a new shortcut to open AI chats," Wabetainfo wrote on its page.
It is to be noted that since the feature is currently in beta, it will only be available to beta testers and not everyone.
"If you’re on the WhatsApp beta programme, you can download the latest version, and check for yourself. Since it’s already on beta, we expect WhatsApp to roll it out for everyone else soon," Wabetainfo added on its page.
