Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has finally responded over the release of Twitter Files and asked the new chief Elon Musk to 'reveal everything now'. In response to Musk's tweet on Episode 2 of The Twitter Files coming up, Dorsey tweeted asking to release all information without filtering it. "If the goal is to build trust through transparency, one possible approach would be to release all information without filtering it, allowing people to judge for themselves. This would include making all discussions about current and future actions public," tweeted the former chief.
Dorsey, who stepped down as Twitter's CEO last year and left its board of directors in May, claimed that by providing unrestricted access to all the information, people would be able to see everything for themselves and make their own judgments.
Musk also responded to his predecessor on Wednesday saying that some of the "most important data" was kept hidden from him and suggested that some "may have been deleted."
However, Musk promised that everything found will be released on the platform.
Last week, Musk released ‘Twitter Files: Part One' that revealed how the Hunter Biden-Laptop story was censored by the social media platform during the last week of the 2020 US Presidential elections. The release offered fragments of the details in order to show how the social media platform suppressed 'free speech' besides revealing some controversial internal conversations between former Twitter executives.
Musk announced on Tuesday that he had fired Deputy General Counsel Jim Baker "in light of concerns about Baker’s possible role in suppression of information important to the public dialogue." And when asked by a Twitter user if Baker was able to explain himself, Musk replied "His explanation was …unconvincing."
Moments later, Taibbi began his own Twitter thread calling it a "Twitter Files Supplemental."
"On Friday, the first installment of the Twitter files was published here. We expected to publish more over the weekend. Many wondered why there was a delay," Taibbi tweeted. "We can now tell you part of the reason why. On Tuesday, Twitter Deputy General Counsel (and former FBI General Counsel) Jim Baker was fired. Among the reasons? Vetting the first batch of 'Twitter Files' – without knowledge of new management."
The published files alleged that the previous Twitter management took steps to suppress reporting regarding Hunter Biden's laptop ahead of the 2020 US Presidential Election.
